After all the action in the Champions League's Round of 16 wrapped up on Wednesday, we now know the matchups for the quarterfinals. The loose theme here seems to be "There Will Be Rematches." Overall, it looks like a pretty fair draw. All any neutral really wanted was to avoid two of the three favorites (Bayern, Barcelona, and Real Madrid) going head-to-head this early in the competition, and that the two weakest (Porto and Monaco) also not face each other. The most tantalizing tie has to be Atlético-Real Madrid, which will be seventh and eighth times these two teams have faced each other just this season. So far Atléti have won four and drawn two of those six Madrid Derbies and will feel confident of their chances to progress yet again at their crosstown rival's expense, while Real will be hungry to avenge that humiliating loss in the league a few weeks ago. The other match that's caught our eye is Paris Saint-Germain-Barcelona. These two teams already met twice in the group stage this season, with with one win for each team. PSG, however, will be missing two of their stars Zlatan Ibrahimović and Marco Verratti for the first match in the tie due to suspensions, hurting their chances at least a little. The luckiest sides here are Bayern and Juventus, since they've drawn by far the two weakest clubs still in it. They will feel their place in the semifinal is all but booked, barring an unforeseeable collapse. Juve's Paul Pogba, however, is set to miss the quarterfinals and maybe even the first leg of the semis due to injury. Should be fun.

English football s money-spinning nature broke new ground in the 2014-15 season, as £4billion was generated by the 92 League clubs, it has been revealed.

Italy captain Fabio Cannavaro has hit back at recent criticism of the reigning World Cup champions, which has focused on the team s largely veteran status in the wake of their Confederations Cup flop.

Italy missed the semi-final stages on goal difference, and have been widely labelled as underachievers.
In Italy that criticism has mainly focused on the fact that seven of Lippi s starting 11 against Brazil were aged 30 or more, with captain Cannavaro almost 36.
However central defender Cannavaro said it was time for the criticism to stop.
